The 2018 Tamar Festival

A Music Festival at Nature's Cultural Hall

September 25-28 (Chol HaMoed Sukkot)

The ever-present majestic beauty of the desert, blossoms each year with the abundance of sounds and colors as the Tamar Festival music celebration returns.

This popular leading Israeli festival has become known for introducing special one-time musical collaborations in the backdrop of this breathtaking desert setting with unforgettable sunrise concerts, rare encounters bringing together East and West, local and international, and all in all the original musical tapestry that continues to reverberate.

Embracing diverse musical expressions, the Tamar Festival reflects Israeli culture at its best. Expanding overseas, this year we welcome internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega with a Symphonette in her debut performance at the Masada Arena as part of an evening featuring a lineup of leading female voices. Four days of a rich program including concerts and other attractions for all the family held at four different locations at various hours, day and night, guaranteeing a one of a kind experience.

  • The Masada Arena – a concert hall at the foothills of Masada. A mesmerizing experience with Masada Mountain as the backdrop
  • Masada Mountaintop – the Tamar Festival exclusive location at the South Palace site overlooking the Dead Sea
  • Kibbutz Ein Gedi – free concerts on the lawn by the Baobab tree
