Accommodation and tourism in the area
Nights of Love in Tamar
This year is the first time the Tamar Festival is opening an expansive, colorful and culture-full area in the Kikar Sdom area.
The area will feature the Camel Enclosure, a point which throughout history always served as an important place for trade, meetings, rest and overnight stoppage in the area.
The Camel Enclosure will operate over two days (October 16-17), the first two days of Hol HaMoed Sukkot.
The Camel Enclosure combines a stage (replacing the traditional modest stage at Ein Tamar) with a colorful festival site open free for all the family with arts and crafts stalls, food, bars, street theater, workshops and activities for kids and families. Apart from all this it will also serve as the starting point for the popular Moonlight Hike, back as part of the festival tradition.
The artistic program includes:
Sunday, October 16 – a popular evening also suitable for the 'moon walkers' – The Locals, Meni Berger, Alon Olearchik and street performances from Bordel Total.
Monday, October 17 – a younger evening, perfect for students and other youngsters, which brings together some new, upcoming bands who have already attracted a crowd of groupies (who will also undoubtedly be there) – The Last Generation, Sulema, Zvuloon Dub System and Michael Greilsammer.

The Return of the Moonlight Hike at the Tamar Festival 2011
The Moonlight Hike at Tamar is the ultimate combination of naturally illuminated desert landscapes and exciting family activity, with music, circus and other arts in a true festival atmosphere.
The hike takes place at Nahal Zin estuary with two main tracks:
Circular family route – approx. 5 km
Circular route for seasoned hikers – approx. 9 km
We'll leave the Camel Enclosure – a site that historically served convoys passing through the Spice Trail looking for respite and rest – and walk along a path full of surprises and shows, finishing in a festive atmosphere with quality stage performances, food stalls, local artists and a top class camping area, in which you can experience a night under the desert stars.
The hike takes place on Sunday, October 16, the third day of Hol HaMoed Sukkot, 19:30-02:00. We'll start walking at 20:00 and finish by 22:30 at the latest.
